August Favourites

Hi everyone! I have a lot of beauty favourites this month thanks to my recent makeup purchases [1, 2, 3] that I do not regret at all because they are amazing! However, I'm only going to be including products that I wear quite a number of times. It ain't a favourite if you've only used it once, no? I wanted to take pictures for this month's favourites post but the weather is so gloomy for the past week and there really isn't much sun outside but I need to get this post up since it's the second of September already so I would have to stick with a stock photo. However, I will update this post with my own pictures later.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm & MAC Velvet Teddy (POST)
Stockholm is my favourite everyday my lips but better shade and Velvet Teddy is the perfect brownish nude for me. I'm not going to touch the subject too much because I talked about them a lot in my previous posts.

Lemaire LR10 Anti Frizz Oil
I got a haircut a few weeks ago (goodbye, long hair!) 14 months after my last cut. I dyed my hair last year and to be honest the colour didn't really show on me because I have dark brown hair and I dumbly went with a colour that resembled my natural hair colour. I have no problem with my hair at all be it after colouring or rebonding and my hair is very easy to take care of but with my new short hair, it is even easier to care for it and I love using this oil after washing my hair. It keeps my hair smelling nice and soft all day.

E necklace
I love accessories. I have this huge jewellery box where I keep all of my rings, bracelets, necklaces, and stud earrings. You can take out the top compartment to put more jewelleries on the bottom part of the box. I decided to clean the box last week and basically getting rid of old and rusty pieces and I found my E necklace! I forgot that I even had that because after I decided to wear hijab, I wear lesser jewelleries and most of my accessories were left to dust.

My new template!
I am loving my new blog design. I tweaked it a little bit to look like what I wanted it to (you can see the original design here) and I don't regret it one bit. I do have my eyes on other templates that I want to buy but I think I'm going to wait a couple of months before I invest in another template.

Downton Abbey
I love British period dramas! This series in particular is very interesting to me. Set in the year 1912, it depicts around an aristocrat family after the sinking of RMS Titanic. Who could have known that 20 pounds in 1912 is worth 1679 pounds today..

Empire
I hated musical dramas and I thought I would definitely hate this series but good god this series is awesome! I love the music in this series and I think that Timbaland did a good job with the soundtrack. Jamal Lyon is so hot and without Taraji P. Henson, this series is nothing. She's the queen!

Music
Of Monsters and Men - King and Lionheart
The Chainsmokers ft. Halsey - Closer
Tori Kelly ft. Ed Sheeran - I Was Made for Loving You
Kehlani - Gangsta
Charlie Puth ft. Selena Gomez - We Don't Talk Anymore
Jarryd James - 1000x
Hailee Steinfield - Rock Bottom

July Favourites

Hi everyone! Where on earth did July go? I thought it was just here and we were just celebrating Eid and now we're already in August and duit raya is already gone. This is saddening. Time flies in a blink of an eye and I'm pretty sure 2017 is coming rather swiftly. Trust me on this. I have a few things to talk about in my July favourites so I hope you'll enjoy this post!

I got this purple Speck case for my laptop back in 2013 and I have so many scratches on it already from 24/7 of using my laptop. I thought I would revamp it with stickers I got from Mr. DIY at Tesco. They have assortments of cute stickers you will go bananas from wanting to buy everything. I'm a hoarder so I bought a lot of them. I used a few packs to decorate my casing and they're very cute!

A few weeks ago I bought Azanis Scar Serum for my hyperpigmentation and I am so happy with the product. My scars haven't cleared up yet but as soon as they have, I will do an in-depth review about it on my blog. I've only been using it for about two weeks and so far I have seen positive changes on my skin.

My lip product of the month is NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in San Paulo. That shade suits my skin colour perfectly. It is my go-to colour and I will definitely repurchase it.

Another favourite is my black leather watch from GUESS. I stopped using it last year because it ran out of battery and I was just lazy to get it changed but I did a few days ago and I have been using it everyday.

I took the time to colour coordinate my scarf and I found Zawara Luna Glitter Shawl in cream. At first, I thought I wasn't going to like it because it's made of heavy lycra. I do not like heavy lycra because it makes my already huge head even bigger but I was wrong! I love this shawl. It doesn't move around at all. Too bad I couldn't include it in the picture because it's in the wash.

I love this purple journal my boyfriend got me last Sunday. He bought me one last year in Turkey and I have used all of the pages so I needed a new one badly. It feels so good being able to write again.

Everyone knows the important of drinking enough water everyday but sometimes we forgot or lose track of the amount of water we drink. I use Water Drink Reminder app to keep track of my fluid intake and also to remind me to drink water every hour.

For Entertainment, I have been rewatching The Nanny and binge-watching Criminal Minds on iflix. I was obsessed with Criminal Minds a few years ago and if I can recall I finished a season in just two days. I know, I was crazy and I obviously had nothing to do at that time. I'm also loving my oldies playlist on Spotify. You all know how obsessed I am with oldies...

June Favourites

Hello my lovelies. I have a lot of favourites for the month of June and surprisingly there is none beauty products for this month. I haven't been buying makeup products lately because I wanted to finish up all of my makeup before buying new ones as I do not keep products longer than 3 years because I do not want anything bad to happen to my skin just in case the product expires. So ladies, go through your makeup and get rid of the old ones for the sake of your skin.

Highlight of this month would be that my boyfriend is home from the UK! I am still hyped up about it because I didn't see him for almost a year. He studies there and will be finishing his Master next year so we have another pain-in-the-ass year apart. If you wanna read our story and how it all began, check out this post.

I have been using contact lens everyday now since I broke my glasses a few weeks ago. I ran out of lens solution so I went to the drugstore and picked up this Bausch + Lomb ReNu Sensitive solution and I love it ever since! You might think that all multipurpose solutions are the same but they are not. Some solutions are for cleansing, some are for storing, and some, like the one I have, is for sensitive eyes. I don't actually have sensitive eyes but I notice that with this solution, my eyes do not sting when I put my lens on. Some other brands sting my eyes just for a few seconds before it goes away. I will definitely repurchase this and I also have the travel size one in my bag just in case I need to rewet my lens.

I am falling in love all over again with books and reading. You can see my from my previous posts for the past week that I have been posting a lot about books and how I finally got out of my reading slump that I had been struggling with for the past two years. In yesterday's post, I talked about Crescendo by Becca Fitzpatrick which I have finished earlier today and I'm now reading the third book, Silence. However, the book that made it to my favourites this month is City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare, the sixth book in The Mortal Instruments series which my boyfriend got me last week. My TMI series is now completed!

For TV series, I'm loving Containment and Cold Case. However, they canceled Containment so we're looking at one-season-only show because honestly the network sucks for canceling good tv shows. It happens, though. Containment is about a flu epidermic that is spreading wildly so the authority puts up a container barrier around the area and basically imprisoning citizens in it. No one can get in or out. Cold Case is about a homicide detective investigating cold cases. If you do not know what cold case is, it's an unsolved criminal investigation that can go back to years and years ago. I really like it. Anything involving homicides and crimes are my cup of tea.

So I watched a Taiwanese drama right after I posted my May favourites so I cannot include it in that post although technically I watched it in May but I'm just going to feature it in this month's favourites. The drama I watched was Loving, Never Forgetting starring Jerry Yan and Liya Tong. I lovelovelove Jerry Yan. Here's the synopsis:

She first met him when the blooming lotus flower was falling, only to have to part ways. Years later, when they reunited, Li Zhong Mou (Jerry Yan) had all but forgotten of Wu Tong's (Liya Tong) existence, leaving her forlorn, except the only thing he wants now from her is the guardianship to their son. 7 years long years together, can they fix their broken relationship?

I kid you not, I feel like watching a fanfiction straight out of asianfanfics.com. THE FEELS, OH MY GOSH. I don't know how to explain it. I feel like killing a few of the mean characters, I feel like hugging Jerry Yan because he's so hot, and I also feel like I'm going to rewatch it after this. It's just that good!

For music, it has to be this boyband playlist that I've been listening to for weeks. I mentioned it in my previous Erin Talks post. I also like Little Mix - Love Me Like You. I don't have much music favourites this month because of that stupidly good boyband playlist. I love 90's boybands a lot. You can follow me on Spotify: Syazana Syazreen Azmir. I follow back because I love seeing what everyone's listening to.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this month's favourites although there isn't anything new in here that I haven't talked about in my previous posts. If you're keeping up with all of my posts and you notice every detail that I talked about, I just wanna say thank you so much for spending your time reading what I write. :)

May Favourites

Assalamualaikum and hi everyone!

The month of May passes by in a blink of an eye. I felt like my April favourites post was just published a few days ago and now we are on May favourites. Time needs to slow down just a notch so I can enjoy more time at home. Since Ramadhan is coming in 12 days, I have a question for you girls:

Have you ganti puasa yet or not?

  • Shu Uemura Hard Formula 9 Brow Pencil. The best brow pencil if you're looking for a more natural brow product. I am blessed with dark eyebrows (dad's side) so I use this product to fill in any sparse areas on my brow which is not a lot, thank God. It literally looks like hair, it doesn't look stenciled at all. I love it. Although it is quite pricey, but it lasts you a very long time even if you're using it everyday.
  • Bobbi Brown Natural Brow Shaper. The first time I used this brow gel was years ago, it was my mom's. I instantly fell in love with it because it made my brows looked natural. Having dark eyebrows does not permit me to use intense brow products that would make my brows look tattooed and fake which is why I love these two products very much. So I took my mom's, ran out of it, and repurchased it. I bought it before the GST implementation and I think it retailed for RM78. The price may increase after GST, though.
  • Colourpop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick in Beeper. I did a review on it so please click the link if you haven't read it yet.
  • Lavender Lotion. You know in Cameron Highland they have like this new place called Lavender something which is really beautiful by the way and they have like a souvenir store where they sell body products? Yeah I bought it there, along with a shower gel. I love this lotion a lot. I am very picky about my lotion and so far my favourite one is from Marks & Spencer (they're not expensive I swear!), but I really like this one. It's even better than those stupid Vaseline lotion that didn't seem to do anything to my skin at all except for making me smell like coco powder. I wear this every night on my legs and arms so when I shower the next morning, my skin turns so soft and hydrated. I love it.
  • Scrambled egg on toast with apple. I wish I took a picture of it so I can put it in this post but I didn't. I am honestly not a breakfast person although I acknowledged the importance of taking your breakfast but I have been loving scrambled egg on toast and apple every morning. All you have to do is toast two slices of bread, make the scrambled egg, put the egg on top of bread, add some salt and pepper (yes I prefer my salt and pepper during preparation not while being cooked), sandwich it with another bread, and taaadaaaaa. Yummy. (Did I really just teach you guys how to make scrambled egg to eat with bread?)
  • Swarovski crystal bracelet. When I was little, I loved collecting jewelleries. Earrings, necklaces, pendants, rings, and all those stuff. Believe me when I say I had more than 50 pairs of earrings when I was just 14. But this bracelet is one of my favourites mainly because my mom has a matching one with slightly bigger crystals. She bought it when I was little. If I ever want to spice up my outfit for the day, I would wear this bracelet, definitely. The crystals are still sparkling even after years! I love it a lot.

ENTERTAINMENT

  • Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. A little bit of disclaimer: No I do not play game consoles. I followed Pewdiepie on YouTube and he did a walkthrough of this game from the start till the end. He finished the game already and I was hooked! The game itself is awesome! It's so fun watching other people playing games because I suck at gaming. I'm not even going to try.
  • Mr Boss Miss Stalker. I needed my monthly dose of Malay dramas. I may use English on my blog, but I am still very much Malay at heart. To be quite honest, I'm not a fan of Mia Ahmad because I found her voice annoying sometimes (please don't hate me). But the whole CEO/president/lelaki kaya/arrogant no matter how cliche it is, I dig it. I dig it a lot. Iluvit.
  • Beauty and The Beast. My new favourite tv series! Seeing Kristin Kreuk in a tv series again really brings back memories of Smallville. You know how TV3 used to air it at night on Sunday I think, and I used to watch it in my mom's room because I slept in her room every chance I got. That was a really long time ago. Anyway, if you like crime related dramas, then you should check out Beauty and The Beast.
  • Michael Learns to Rock - 19 Love Ballads album
  • Meghan Trainor - NO
  • Alex & Sierra - Little Do You Know
  • Futures - Million Lights
  • Drake - One Dance
  • Justin Bieber - Company
  • Rayvon Owen - Air

April Favourites

I am back with my favourites for the month of April! April flew by so fast and we're in the month of May, guys. Has it been a month already? I thought I just turned 21 yesterday (March 29th). All in all, I am glad that time flies because I am always looking forward to my future.  It's crazy, isn't it? How oblivious we are of our future. Like we don't know what's gonna happen next, it's all very mysterious. But let's be serious now. Will I be able to afford an Hermes Birkin bag in the future..

But anyway, enough ramblings about our mysterious future and an overpriced bag! Let's get on to the favourites.

  • Shine Fish Oil + Natural Vitamin E. I have never taken any dietary supplements my whole entire life. But one day I saw two bottles of pills in the fridge (I am always finding things in the fridge) and they were fish oil softgel tablets. Having newly turned 21 a few days ago (it happened during early April), I figured it was time for me to really care about my body and at the very least do something for my health so I have been taking this tablets religiously everyday since I found it. To be honest I haven't seen any immediate effects on my body but it has natural vitamin E which helps with your skin and curing scars so that's a bonus for me.
  • Guardian Xpertise Therapy Oil. Another thing I have been using religiously for the sake of skin. I wanted to buy Bio Oil or a vitamin E oil from this one brand I forgot the name of but they were hella expensive. I might as well buy makeup with that money. Surely I can see immediate effect on my skin, no? So I settled with Guardian own brand oil. I love this thing. It smells like J&J baby oil. It helps treat scars, stretch marks, uneven skin tone, aging and dry skin. You can also use the oil on your face but I didn't really like the feel of it. I like this better than body lotion, though.
  • New template. I lovelovelove my new template, if I haven't said that for the 9999th time already. I got it on Etsy, it was on sale, and it's beautiful!
  • TVShow Time app. I don't know about you but I'm obsessed with tv shows I watch tons and tons of tv shows and keeping track with new episodes can be really confusing for me. With this app, I can manage my tv shows and keep track of their new episodes.
  • Bloglovin. I'm obsessed with following blogs on Bloglovin! To me I just found it a lot easier to follow blogs on Bloglovin because I can follow Wordpress blogs there too. It's also easier to find similar lifestyle blogs there. Click the link if you want to follow me on Bloglovin.
  • Petty Revenge Stories. Short stories of karma finding its way to people who deserve it.
  • Sixpencee. Just some creepy, mind-boggling stories from reddit reposted on Tumblr. Please don't read them before bed. Please.

Music favourites

  • Yuna - Crush ft. Usher
  • Zara Larsson - Never Forget You ft. MNEK
  • Kendrick Lamar - A.D.H.D
  • Ariana Grande - Dangerous Woman
  • Troye Sivan - HEAVEN
  • Little Mix - Secret Love Song ft. Jason Derulo
  • Chicago - I Don't Wanna Live Without Your Love

I'm pretty sure I forgot one or two favourites despite having them written down in my bullet journal since the start of April. Anyhow, I hope you enjoy my April favourites and please go and check out Pretty Revenge Stories and Sixpencee. Just some light reading you can do before bed. x

March Favourites

Assalamualaikum and hi everyone! I am back with another monthly favourites for the month of March that is coming to an end in just a few days. I actually wrote notes on my bullet journal about the items that I'm going to mention in this post because writing them down really helps as I often forgot to mention some items in my other monthly favourites. Enough babbling. Let's get to it!

Now playing — EXO on Spotify. Kai is bae.

  • JF Skin Solutions Cleanser Bar. Holy shmoly. This soap bar is amazing! If you haven't read my skincare routine, I mentioned that I am currently using Dnars Skincare. However, their facial soap often leaves my skin red and itchy after using. So what I did was I would use Dnars soap and this JF soap afterwards and boom dot com the redness and itchiness are gone! My mom noticed that also because my skin often turns red especially in this hot weather but the redness macam udang kena bakar is gone! And it helps with my acne scars, too. I really recommend it. My mom got it in a clinic near my house.
  • MAC Charged Water Skin Hydrating Mist. To be completely honest, I don't even know the function of this product. All I know is it's.. water. But it makes the perfect moisturizer for my oily skin before I put on primer! But also because I ran out of my Clinique moisturizer that I can no longer afford because I'm broke.
  • Elianto Brilliant Riche Lip Colour. I read a lot of negative reviews about this product but to me it's good and it's inexpensive and it works and it is matte and not everyone can afford OFRA or Anastasia Beverly Hills or MAC liquid lipsticks so why not....???? I wore it in my Sunday out and about post.
  • Good Virtues Co. Makeup Remover. Click the link to my product showdown — makeup remover post. I explained what I liked about it.

Miscellaneous:

  • Camera. My photography skill is zero to none but what the heck I can learn and I love taking pictures for my blog posts. (camera in the photo above is my sister's)
  • Detox water. One thing that I can say after a week of drinking detox water diligently: POOPING IS AWESOME. And lemon is good!
  • Rizzoli & Isles (TV Series 2010-). I am ashamed to say this but I finished the whole 6 seasons in only a month because I love murders/solving crime dramas!

Music faves:

  • Zayn - Mind of Mine album — iTs YoU / BeFoUr / dRuNk / rEaR vIeW / TiO / SHE DON'T LOVE ME
  • The 1975 - I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it album — A Change of Heart / She's American / Somebody Else (so freaking good!!!!!!!!!) / The Sound / This Must Be My Dream / Paris

Senang cerita semua lagu in these albums I love.

That's it for this month's favourites! (This post) will see you next month. x

February Favourites

Hello you guys! I'm back with favourites of the month post as February is ending in just a day and we can all welcome my birthday month! I always get excited when it's March and I feel that everything that happens in the month of March is blessings for me be it good things or bad things. May this year's birthday be a good one for me, in shaa Allah.

Let's get on to this month's favourites!

Rachel K CC Cream Original - link
I got this product way back in 2014 from Luxola (now Sephora.my). The first time I used it, I didn't really like it I'm not so sure why. Maybe I didn't use it correctly or it just wasn't working on my skin. But it has just been a product that's been sitting on my vanity for quite some time now and I've never even bothered to reach for it. But a few weeks ago, I was getting ready to go to class and I saw it just sitting there in the drawer and I thought why the hell not give it another try. I dabbed some of the product all over my face and blended it using my dupe beauty blender and boy.

Das look good, gurl. Das good.

I have oily/combination skin and this product is the only product that manage to mattify my skin. The key to using it correctly is not to use too much. I put too much the first time I used it so it's no wonder that it looked cakey on me. All in all, I really love it and I hope I never ran out of it because das expensive.

Apple Magic Mouse - link
I am not much of a mouse person but when it comes to editing blogs and videos, it sure does come in handy for me! I edit videos for assignments and I am an html/css person because I change my blog template and tumblr theme a lot so having a wireless mouse really makes everything easier. I also use it for Photoshop CS6.

Halsey - Colors music video
Colors is one of my favourite songs by Halsey and I'm so stoked that the music video finally came out! I love the cinematography, I love the setting, I love everything about the video. What's making it more interesting is the plot twist at the end.

Elementary (TV Series 2012-) - link
Waiting for Sherlock (starring Benedict Cumberbatch) new season (season 4) is such a pain in the arse. I have been waiting for that show to release its new episode since 2014. It's been almost two years and I cannot take it any longer. I need some Sherlock action in my life.

Hence, Elementary came. It's the modern take of Sherlock Holmes with the setting being in New York City, my favourite city in the whole wide world. Sherlock Holmes together with Dr. Joan Watson (yes, a female) solving crimes and murders in NYC. Need I tell you that the guy playing Sherlock has *cough* British accent *cough*.

Person of Interest (TV Series 2011-) - link
OH MY GOD. THE SHOW IS WORTH THE RATING ON IMDB WEBSITE. The show revolves around a billionaire and an ex assassin who work together to help stop a crime. So there's this machine that the billionaire invented that could detect terrorists for the government and it also detects small scale crimes that both of them try to stop. It gives out a social security number of a person and he/she could be either the victim or perpetrator. It's really good, you should watch it!

Track favourites
  • Rihanna - Kiss It Better
  • Zayn - It's You
  • The 1975 - The Sound
  • Adele - All I Ask

That's it for this month's favourites! See ya next month.

January Favourites

(I actually posted this on my Tumblr but what the heck, since I'm back on Blogger, I thought it would fit)

My everyday makeup - I am obsessed with my own everyday makeup. Noted that I don’t wear makeup everyday but when I do, I do it like that. And I am obsessed with it! I’ve been meaning to do an everyday makeup routine video but time is what I am lacked. Will do one once I have time in my hand.

Nobluk contact lens in brown - Hands down. The nicest contact lens I have ever bought. They look natural on me although they are brown. I will definitely repurchase once it has passed its three month expiry date.

Beauty blender dupe - I am not going to spend MYR90 on a sponge when I could be spending those money on something else, so I bought its dupe. Well, not really a dupe considering that it doesn’t expand after I ran it through water but it applies my foundation beautifully without getting any streaks on my face. Bought it for MYR5. Best purchase ever.

Essence Soo Glow! Highlighter - Beautiful highlighter! They have only two shades available and I got the pink shimmery one because the sales assistant said that the white shimmery one doesn’t really do anything on my skin. It is so beautiful on my skin and the price point is voila, a bargain. Only MYR16! If you’re cheap like me, go get yourself some Essence highlighter.

Coldplay ‘A Head Full of Dreams’ album - You wouldn’t want to know how many times I have this album playing over and over again on my Spotify. The album, just like the previous ones by Coldplay, is really good. My personal favourite are Hymn for The Weekend, Amazing Day, Adventure of A Lifetime, and Army of One. Go check it out!

Something Borrowed (2011) movie - So the other day I was in the mood for some friendship type of movie and Something Borrowed depicts a betrayal of a friend. Well, is it? I love the plot, I love Kate Hudson, I think she played her character beautifully.
